Privacy Policy
How StackClear collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information.
StackClear collects only the information needed to provide accounts, library sync, social features, imports, support, and optional subscriptions.
Who Is Responsible
StackClear is operated by an independent developer based in Quebec, Canada. The StackClear Privacy Officer is responsible for this policy and StackClear's personal-information practices. Privacy questions, access requests, correction requests, complaints, and deletion requests can be sent to support@stackclear.ca.
Scope
This policy applies to the StackClear mobile application, website, accounts, and related services. It does not replace the privacy policies of app stores, identity providers, connected gaming services, or other third parties you choose to use.
Account and Profile Information
We may collect an account identifier, email address, authentication-provider identifiers, username, display name, avatar, profile background, profile preferences, privacy setting, linked gaming identifiers, and information needed to maintain your session. We do not receive your Google Play payment-card number or your password for an external gaming service.
Library, Social, and Activity Information
We may process the games in your library, platforms, play status, ratings, dates, notes and other library choices; favorite games; XP and statistics; friendships, follows, notifications, and social activity; and information generated when you use library, profile, leaderboard, search, or social features.
Connected Services and Imports
When you choose an import or account connection, we process the identifiers, authorization results, profile information, and library metadata needed to complete that request. Supported sources may include Steam, Epic Games, Xbox or Microsoft services, and game metadata supplied through IGDB or Twitch. Connections are optional and can be disconnected where that control is offered.
Photos, Notifications, Purchases, and Support
If you choose profile customization, we process uploaded avatars or backgrounds. If you enable push notifications, we process an Expo push token, device platform, notification preferences, and delivery status. For optional subscriptions, we process product, entitlement, renewal, cancellation, and transaction-status information through Google Play and RevenueCat, but not full card details. Feedback or bug reports may include the text, image attachment, account identifier, and account email you submit.
How We Use Information
We use information to authenticate users; sync and display libraries and profiles; calculate statistics, XP, rankings, and recommendations; provide social features and notifications; complete user-requested imports; administer subscriptions; respond to support and feedback; prevent abuse; maintain security; diagnose failures; and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell personal information and do not use third-party advertising in StackClear.
Public and Private Information
Depending on your settings, other users may see your username, avatar, background, favorite games, library activity, statistics, level, supporter status, and social connections. A private profile limits full profile details, but limited leaderboard information may still be visible. Review your profile and privacy settings before adding information you do not want displayed.
Service Providers and Disclosures
We disclose information only as needed to operate StackClear, complete your request, protect rights and safety, or comply with law. Providers may include Supabase for authentication, database, storage, and server functions; Google and Firebase for sign-in, Android services, and messaging; Expo for push delivery and application services; RevenueCat and Google Play for subscriptions; Linear for feedback and attachments; and connected gaming or game-data providers when you use those features. Providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
International Processing
StackClear and its service providers may process or store information outside your province or outside Canada. Information processed in another jurisdiction may be subject to that jurisdiction's laws and lawful-access requirements. We use established service providers and limit disclosures to what is reasonably needed for the service.
Retention and Deletion
We retain account and synced information while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Some records may be kept longer when required for security, fraud prevention, tax, accounting, dispute resolution, or legal compliance. Account deletion removes the authentication account and associated StackClear records through the service's deletion process; limited backups, provider logs, submitted support issues, or legally required purchase records may remain for a reasonable period.
Your Choices and Rights
You can update profile information, change privacy and notification preferences, disconnect supported services, clear local data, delete synced library data, or delete your account through the available settings. You may contact the StackClear Privacy Officer to request access to or correction of personal information, ask questions, or challenge our compliance. We may need to verify your identity before completing a request.
Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and access-control safeguards, including authenticated access and database row-level security. No service can guarantee absolute security. Keep your sign-in method secure and contact support@stackclear.ca if you believe your account or information has been compromised.
Children
StackClear is intended for users aged 13 and older and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from a child under 13. A parent or guardian who believes a child under 13 provided personal information should contact support@stackclear.ca so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
Changes and Contact
We may update this policy to reflect changes in the service, providers, or legal requirements. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice when a change is material. Contact the StackClear Privacy Officer at support@stackclear.ca.
